Fritz Mayr is starting to reach Mozart-level musical genius. As evidence I submit this question: What other artist has released albums so frequently (approx. one a month, lately) and yet each one sounds fresh and compelling. It is refreshing, indeed, to see an artist reach maturity in his skill and creativity and then keep going up. The rhythmic echo of Tangerine Dream’s classic “Rubycon” in the title track is a real joy, yet doesn’t feel derivative. A perfect ten.
